Website

Hi girls!

Ok. What do you think about laying the website out like this.

HOME- Explanation, standards, image

ABOUT PROJECT BASED LEARNING- Description of PBL and how it fits into our project, Blog URL, Podcast

INTRO TO WEATHER MONITORING- Concept Map, Weather Vocabulary Lesson Plan

PEN PALS- Pen Pals digital story, pen pals write up, google maps

DATA COLLECTORS- 3 data collection lesson plans, DIGITAL STORY ABOUT COLLECTING DATA (THIS IS GOING TO BE MY NEW ITEM)

REPORTING THE WEATHER- Meteorology digital story, Meteorology Lesson Plan, Reporting the weather to our school digital story


What do you guys think? I'm just throwing out an idea. Please let me know what you think should be different/added. Also..I was thinking of a couple things:

1. At the bottom of the page we have to say who created it. So they all look alike lets all write "Page Created By: OUR NAME" at the bottom of the page in the middle. Under that we can write Contact us at edt3470weathermonitoring2012@gmail.com. Sound good?

2. Since each of us have to find three new websites. Lets just find them for whatever pages you end up being responsible for.

3. My new thing going to be a digital story about data collecting to tie that page together. So I will do the data collectors page if that's cool.

How does this sound? What pages do you guys want to do? Also, let's pic a font/size to go with throughout the site.

  1. Do we need to do something with the assistive tech papers? I uploaded mine because you guys did, but I don't see anything about it in the directions. Am I missing something? :)

  2. Also- we need to figure out where we are going to put the different web sites from the web evaluations. It says "they should be plugged in an appropriate place on the web site". Does that mean we can make a page something like "fun resources for teachers and students" or something like that and list and describe them ... or do you think we need to put them in different places throughout the site like the NEW websites we have to find?

    Ps- I'm totally not trying to be pushy or blow you guys up. I have all night :) I just know everyone is busy so I am trying to think of the little things before we start rushing!

  3. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I think that the website looks great so far! I couldn't see the image at the top, but that could just be my computer and internet. I like your ideas above about how to lay out the website. I am not too familiar with making a website through this program, but I'll be figuring it out as we go tonight. I like the other ideas you have are great. Just let us know what pages we end up with. (: I'm not sure about the assistive technology papers, if we need them at least we already have them. I think that the websites should go on a page of other resources for teachers or students. And don't worry about being pushy, not an issue at all!!

  4. Ok cool. I will do the home, data collection, and "other" (i'll figure out a good name)

    and then that leaves four pages...2 for each of you. you guys can split those up! Does that sound good?

    I used Georgia font on the home page. If you like that we can just keep that.

    I was having issues with the image, I'm trying to figure that out. I don't know how to use this program either..but it's not difficult to figure out. :)

    I'll be on here until I'm done with those three pages, So we can stay in touch as we figure this out.

  5. I think I figured out the image. When you want to add an image make sure you save it to your computer, then go to insert image, UPLOAD image, and then link it through to the URL...the other ways would work at first but the image would never come back up. This way seems to work :)

  7. ok- so i cannot figure out how to put the pages in order. when i try to add them in order, they just go in whatever order they want and i cannot figure out how to move the pages. Any suggestions?

  8. I'm noticing that too.. I'm sure there is a way to do it. Also, are we adding a short description of each page at the top? Or just adding the elements?

  9. I just tried everything i could think of to put the pages in order and I had my boyfriend try everything he could think of...I can't figure it out. If you think of something-God Bless you. lol.

  10. Alrighty. We also have to have the WMU logo somewhere... not entirely sure how to get that or where it goes, but it was in the instructions.

  14. I got the logo. It is on there :) Thanks. are your pages ready? I have to add your web evals that will take me five mins. THen i have to add an image to the last page. AFter that, can we submit it?
